NeoTires

The all-season tire Hankook RH12 Dynapro HT, like other members of the Dynapro family, is addressed to owners of crossovers and SUVs. In addition, the prefix in the name HT stands for High Terrain, which implies operation mainly on paved roads. However, the structure of the tread pattern is such that this model will not save even in front of a dirt road.

It should also be noted that the range of standard sizes offered by the manufacturer is somewhat limited - there are only 10 of them. However, all of them can be called popular, which to some extent neutralizes this drawback.

Nowadays, most modern tires that can be used all year round are equipped with S-shaped tread patterns, especially for SUVs. This model was no exception. This choice is due to the fact that tread patterns with just such a design have excellent characteristics on a wide variety of surfaces. In addition, one cannot fail to note the lack of directionality of the tread pattern of this tire. This factor is very important if we take into account the specifics of the operation of an SUV. After all, such a tire provides high traction characteristics when driving, both forward and backward, which seriously affects cross-country performance. However, we repeat that this model is intended exclusively for asphalt roads.

In particular, the narrow directionality is unambiguously hinted at by the presence of a wide longitudinal rib in the central part of the tread. Since it does not have any breaks along the entire length of the tread, this rib is a one-piece element with a very high degree of rigidity. It is due to this that the Hankook RH12 Dynapro HT tire owes its excellent directional stability at high speed, as well as an instant response. Thanks to this, a sporty note appeared in the character of handling, which is somewhat unusual for an off-road tire.

In addition, there are special protrusions in the central rib. Their function is to improve grip on snowy surfaces by forming additional edges. This technical solution cannot be called superfluous, given the possibility of year-round operation.

Similar elements are found in the shoulder areas of the tread, which also feature a one-piece and very rigid construction. In addition, the shoulder areas have special grooves with variable depth. Thanks to them, a higher braking efficiency on snow is achieved.

The drainage system of this tire consists of four longitudinally spaced grooves. Their rather impressive size makes it easy to cope with both water and snow. As a result, the tire demonstrates excellent resistance to both aquaplaning and slash planning, thus providing a reliable grip on both wet and snowy roads.

Main features of the Hankook RH12 Dynapro HT tire

- Universal S-shaped tread pattern, perfectly suited for year-round use;

- Optimally matched rubber compound remains flexible over a very wide temperature range while demonstrating excellent resistance to abrasion;

- Five longitudinal ribs, thanks to which the tire has excellent directional stability, low noise level, as well as good fuel economy;

- The central rib is characterized by high rigidity, which gives the character of controllability clarity, precision, and transparency;

- Special grooves on the walls of the central rib and shoulder areas of the tread provide additional traction on the snow;

- Excellent resistance to aquaplaning and slash planning is ensured by four longitudinal drainage grooves, which perfectly cope with the removal of both water and snow slush from the contact patch.
