The all-season Cooper Discoverer HT3 tire is designed for off-road vehicles. This manufacturer is renowned for its advanced tire technology. This model is no exception, it implements the latest technical achievements of the tire industry. Thorough quality control completely excluded the defective batches from getting to the consumer.
Unusual tread pattern
To achieve the optimal location of the tread blocks, the computer simulation method, which the engineers used to create the tread, helped. As a result, it was possible to choose the most optimal from a huge number of block arrangement options. The tread pattern consists of blocks of various shapes, which can significantly increase the operational parameters. A wide range of blocks, consisting of three differently shaped blocks, provides quick response to steering turns and increased stability when driving in a straight line. Lateral elongated blocks allow you to pass any turns without problems, providing confident control in various maneuvers.
Drainage system
The Cooper Discoverer HT3 all-season tire must have an effective drainage system that handles both water and snow without problems. To achieve this, a branched drainage system was used in this model, consisting of four massive channels and a large number of small grooves of various shapes. This combination allows water, mud and snow to be removed from the entire surface. The new shape of the grooves prevents stones from getting stuck in the tread and speeds up self-cleaning, increasing flotation in all conditions. Zig-zag sipes and small grooves on the blocks reduce driving noise and increase grip on ice. At the same time, driving long distances has become more comfortable.
New components in the rubber compound
The company is constantly working to improve the rubber compound, which would significantly increase the driving performance of the tire. In this model, a compound with a high content of silicon dioxide was used, which improves wear resistance without reducing the elasticity of the tread. The new rubber compound provided the tire with excellent grip in all weather conditions and also reduced the rolling coefficient when driving. This has improved efficiency and improved stability when driving at high speeds.
Main features of the Cooper Discoverer HT3 tire
- the branched drainage system perfectly copes with its functions in all weather conditions, providing confident control and increased comfort;
- the improved tread pattern has an optimal arrangement of blocks, which made it possible to achieve the maximum contact patch, increased stability and controllability;
- the updated rubber compound provided the tires with excellent driving characteristics in all weather conditions, and also increased the tire run.
“We are delighted to continue to enrich the heritage of the Discoverer range with tires specifically designed for commercial vehicles,” said Scott Jamieson, Cooper Product Management Director. "The Discoverer HT3 is capable of meeting the needs of hard-working business owners and is a great option for them, as their size range covers 96% of the market for popular road tires in this class."
Sidewall and protector new items
The manufacturer also notes that silica has been added to the rubber compound, which, in combination with deep 3D sipes, improves ride quality on asphalt all year round. The tread pattern also includes continuous shoulder ribs to resist uneven wear and reduce noise. The increased durability allows the tire to be used in the toughest urban conditions.
The Cooper Discoverer HT3 is available in R and S speed ratings, and the entire line consists of 17 sizes with diameters ranging from 15 to 18 inches.
