The Japanese company Yokohama last year presented new tires for the Geolandar CV G058 crossovers. The novelty has replaced the popular model Yokohama Geolandar SUV G055 of the grand touring segment. According to internal company tests, the Yokohama Geolandar CV G058 outperforms its predecessor in wet braking performance by 12%, wet handling by 13%, 34% in road-noise, and 9% in interior noise. In addition, a 7% improvement in ride comfort and a 1% reduction in rolling resistance.

Summer tire Yokohama Geolandar CV G058 is installed in SUVs, pickups, and SUVs. It is a High Terrain tire, showing the highest efficiency on asphalt roads. It differs from most similar tires of other brands by improved grip on wet surfaces, abrasion resistance, and a high level of acoustic comfort.

According to a statement from the Japanese manufacturer, the Geolandar CV G058 represents the pinnacle of the evolution of touring tires for long, comfortable travel, adapted for urban use.

The engineers of the Japanese company managed to improve the performance of the tire in terms of key performance characteristics: safety, acoustic comfort, durability, and fuel efficiency. The sidewall of the Yokohama Geolandar CV G058 tire bears the M + S (Mud + Snow) mark, indicating its suitability for use on light snow and slush.

The tire is marked with the BluEarth logo, which indicates the integrated use of modern technology and engineering solutions aimed at ensuring the safety of the environment, creating comfortable conditions for the life of a person and society as a whole.

The tread is molded from an environmentally friendly NanoBlend rubber compound with orange oil and silica. It retains its elasticity at low temperatures, contributes to stable driving in a variety of road conditions, including such low-temperature surfaces as wet asphalt and freshly fallen snow.

The multifunctional symmetrical tread pattern is modeled using the Sipe Base Pattern technology. It is equipped with a combination of 2D and 3D sipes of various designs, which together prevent uneven wear and provide a reliable grip on wet roads. Four longitudinal channels of two types allow the tire to quickly drain water from the contact patch, improving performance on wet roads. The 5-step tread pattern reduces the noise generated by the tire while driving. The optimized tread profile creates a wide, continuous contact patch for durability and less uneven wear.

Improved fuel efficiency has been achieved through the unique Fuel Saving Construction and Light Weight Technology.

In 2020, the Yokohama Geolandar CV G058 presented 43 standard sizes from 165 / 60R15 77H to 265 / 50R20 107V.

  • Excellent grip on wet surfaces

The design of the tread pattern is distinguished by the presence of a large number of sipes. The narrow sipes are located transversely, due to which, on a wet surface, high efficiency of the tire at longitudinal acceleration is achieved. The use of sipes can significantly slow down the rate of wear of the running part of the tread, increasing its service life.

  • Reduced noise level

The tread pattern elements are distributed along the longitudinal ribs. Ooni is displaced relative to each other. This solution reduces the likelihood of low-frequency noise and vibration from tire rolling. As a result, the acoustic comfort in the vehicle interior is significantly reduced.

  • Low inclination towards aquaplaning

The running part of the tread contains four wide longitudinal grooves. The elements located in the central part have a significant volume, due to which almost any amount of water can be drained from under the contact patch at once, reducing the risk of aquaplaning to a minimum, even at high speeds.

  • Increased contact patch

The tread profile is shaped so that the contact patch becomes larger and almost square under load from the vehicle weight. In addition to enhancing grip properties, this solution reduces the rate of tire wear, increasing its durability, and in addition, gives stability in the behavior of the tire when braking and maneuvering.

Key Features:

- increased number of sipes improves grip on wet surfaces;

- several types of narrow slots prevent uneven wear, reduce the rate of its flow;

- The 5-step arrangement of the tread pattern elements increases the acoustic comfort in the vehicle interior.

- Good aquaplaning resistance

All-season tires are not good enough for harsh winters. In a mild climate, it will be effective.

The laconic design of the tread with many wide sipes has an attractive symmetry that grips the road surface tenaciously. The shoulder areas do a good job of evacuating water. The design with the offset of the tread pattern elements provides for noise reduction. Central longitudinal ribs provide stability while driving.
