NeoTires

The Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric summer passenger tire is addressed to those owners of powerful and fast cars who, for the sake of refined sporty handling, are not ready to give up a high level of comfort. This model is produced in more than three dozen standard sizes, ranging from 205 / 55R17 and ending with 295 / 30R20. Such a wide range of standards then sizes allows this tire to be used on most modern models of medium and premium passenger cars. The highest speed indexes W and Y which are assigned to it testify to the high technical characteristics of this tire.

Active CornerGrip Technology

Since this model was created for driving at very high speeds, one of the company's innovative developments, Active CornerGrip Technology, was used to ensure a high level of safety. This term hides severe technical solutions, which will be discussed below.

Asymmetrical tread pattern

North American tire makers have opted for an asymmetric directional tread design because this is the tread that is most effective at high speed in all road conditions. Its characteristic feature is the different patterns of the inner and outer sides of the tread.

A key feature of Active CornerGrip Technology is the aramid-reinforced sidewall on the outside of the tire. Aramid in its characteristics corresponds to the Kevlar used for body armor. As you know, when cornering, the outer side of the tire is loaded more than the inner side, due to which the tire tread is deformed, and the load is unevenly distributed over the contact patch, which leads to the tire falling off into sliding. A special reinforcing insert of aramid fibers in the sidewall on the outside of the tire significantly increases the tread resistance to deformation. This ensures a more even distribution of pressure over the contact patch. As a result, the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric tire exhibits superior cornering stability, allowing for faster cornering.

Another feature of the asymmetrical tread pattern is the longitudinal rib located in the center of the tread, which is characterized by a very rigid one-piece construction. This solution allows the tire to demonstrate phenomenal directional stability when driving at any speed. In addition, the massive dimensions and high rigidity of the center longitudinal rib design gave the tire lightning speed and precise response in response to steering movements, which brought a sporty character to the handling.

In addition, this model is distinguished by a multi-radius tread, the shoulder areas of which have a small radius profile. Due to this constructive solution, it was possible to achieve an almost rectangular configuration of the contact patch, providing along the way a very large area of it. This allows the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric tire to provide superior grip in all conditions. Another advantage of the multi-radius tread is the evenest distribution of the load over the entire area of the contact patch, which, in turn, led to a significant reduction in the risk of uneven wear.

Excellent rain performance

One of the family traits of all tire products from this North American manufacturer is high resistance to aquaplaning. This model is no exception and has excellent aquaplaning resistance thanks to its superior drainage performance. When driving on a wet road, moisture is collected in the four longitudinal grooves and then quickly removed through the numerous transverse channels to the outside.

Dual tread

Another core component of Active CornerGrip Technology is the dual-compound tread compound. This model was one of the first tires to use the Dual Tread technology for the first time. The inner side of the tread is made of a rubber compound with high silica content. This silicon-containing component gives this part of the tread excellent elasticity as well as high abrasion resistance. The outer side of the tread is characterized by a rubber compound of increased hardness, which allows the tread to more firmly withstand deformations resulting from lateral acceleration. In addition to the differences in the rubber compound, there are several common components on both sides of the tread, including Goodyearmade specialty resin, resins, and a carbon black filler that matches special sports tires.

Key features of the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric tire

- The innovative Active CornerGrip Technology distributes the load more evenly for more reliable traction when cornering.

all tread elements;

- The composition of the rubber compound from racing tires includes a special reinforcing filler and the latest generation polymers, which ensured optimal tread rigidity, as well as its resistance to premature abrasion;

- The optimal shape of the tread blocks, combined with their carefully thought-out positioning, provides a more comfortable and quiet ride by reducing the frequency peaks of noise.

It Shortens braking distances on wet and dry roads provides excellent handling and allows you to fully enjoy the ride

  • Shorter braking distances on wet and dry roads
  • Increased grip for confident driving and control
  • Used by leading car manufacturers

Thanks to special technologies, our tires will help you in various driving situations. Read what we mean here.

SoundComfort technology

SoundComfort technology ensures a quieter and more comfortable ride by reducing the noise level inside the car by 50% *

RunOnFlat

Our revolutionary RunOnFlat technology allows you to travel some distance at speeds up to 50 mi / h, even with a flat tire. This saves you the hassle of changing a wheel immediately on the side of the road and reduces the risk of a tire burst on the motorway.

Disk protection

Built-in protection prevents disc damage from curb contact.

Road tires

Designed for off-road vehicles for road travel at speeds up to 180 mi / h.

Off-road

Off-road tires for all-wheel drive vehicles.

Road / off-road

Designed for off-road use in 4x4 vehicles, these tires can also be used for road travel at speeds up to 110 mi / h.

Why choose this tire

Shorter braking distances on wet and dry roads

Thanks to Active Braking technology, contact area, and braking grip are increased. This increases contact with the road, resulting in shorter braking distances on wet and dry roads.

Clutch for braking and handling

The Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 uses a new grip-enhancing component that contains tacky resins to improve adhesion to the surface. This improves braking grip and handling on wet and dry roads.

steering precision and durability

New technology has created a reinforced, lightweight design with improved handling, tread wear, fuel economy, and superior cornering performance.
