G-MAX RS
The General Tire G-Max RS is a summer tire designed and developed for compact and mid-size passenger cars. These tires are marketed as sports tires, which means they are designed to provide safety and maneuverability when traveling at high speeds on flat road surfaces. The tires feature a number of proprietary technologies that provide mechanical and acoustic ride comfort.
The G-Max RS line first hit the market in 2017. But to this day, these tires remain in demand.
By the way, the G-Max RS made its debut at SEMA 2017, where it won the Best New Tire awards.
Briefly about the brand
General Tire is the oldest American brand, founded in 1915 and specializing in the production of a wide range of automobile tires and related products. Today General Tire products are manufactured in close cooperation with the German multinational manufacturing company Continental AG. The collaboration benefited from the quality of the finished tires, which are now available under the General Tire brand.
Technologies used
General Tire G-Max RS is a modern sports tire with excellent acceleration and braking performance. Special technologies mainly concerned the tread and the compound.
- Smart Grip - This technology provides a stable grip on both dry and wet road surfaces.
- StabiliTread - This technology increases the footprint for maximum traction.
- Reactive Contour Technology - This technology gives G-Max RS tires the ability to react with lightning speed to changes in the road surface. The wheels, thanks to this technology, maintain constant contact with the asphalt, which ensures stable handling.
Balance Comfort is another technology found in the tread of the G-Max RS tires. Thanks to this technology, the protector itself have a cushioning function. The protector dampens vibrations. This technology is indispensable when it comes to long-distance travel.
Acoustic Modulation Sound Technology - In accordance with this technology, the tread pattern is designed in such a way that it dampens noise. Of course, the technology only works if the wheels are installed correctly. For the correct positioning of the rubber, the tires have arrow icons showing the direction.
Tire composition
General Tire G-Max RS are manufactured with increased durability in mind. For this, the rubber compound contains special polymer and silica inclusions.
A specially developed and patented tire compound on the one hand reduces the intensity of abrasion of the working layer, and on the other hand provides sufficient traction with the road surface, which reduces the braking distance. Moreover, the ingredients used in these tires are distinguished by their ability to smooth out the shock effect when the tire comes into contact with the unevenness of the road surface.
Tire design
The General Tire G-Max RS is a directional tire, meaning the tread pattern is designed to provide better handling. The design of these tires provides that the tread pattern, as well as all tire elements, are asymmetric. Thus, there are left tires and there are right ones. When installed properly, the tire design provides operational benefits. If the tires are mixed up, the benefits of asymmetric tires will not manifest themselves in any way.
The design of the tire assumes the presence of both a rigid central rib and elastic blocks of the shoulder zones. Due to this design, the tires, despite their low profile and rigid central rib, increase the contact surface, directional stability, and lateral force transfer for better maneuverability.
Tire characteristics

Advantages and disadvantages
Benefits
- Affordable price in comparison with branded competitors. Almost any branded tire with similar performance will cost more.
- A wide choice of standard sizes and as a result the possibility of purchasing tires for any modern passenger cars.
- Really excellent handling and short braking distances.
- There is a tire change monitor, that is, now you do not need to count how many seasons the car has driven on one tire. The monitor is a colored strip in the center of the tire. As long as there is this lane, the tire is usable.
- Excellent overall tire design. This is important, considering that this rubber is purchased for modern sports cars.
- Reliability. The tires are high-speed, resistant to wear and tear when driving even on imperfect surfaces.
Disadvantages
As such, there are no shortcomings, except that you can buy such tires, not in every tire store.
Customer Reviews

G-Max RS tires are suitable for those who like to play in the summer, but there is no money for expensive tires. I decided to buy these tires because sometimes the soul asks to press the gas pedal to the floor, especially in the countryside, even though I am not a racer myself. The wheels were balanced with these tires without any problems. Water is removed from the contact spot well. There is almost no noise from the wheels and the cabin has become more comfortable. I have not noticed any shortcomings yet.

These tires are a good balance of performance and practicality. The car rides better, as the steering wheel obeys normally. Sidewall strength is average, but this is normal for a passenger tire. The car accelerates and brakes perfectly on these tires. On irregularities almost does not throw the steering wheel. Even the consumption of gas has decreased since the tire is light. No aquaplaning. A good tire that costs less than it deserves.

General Tire G-Max RS summer tires are an excellent solution for most light compact cars. By buying such tires, you are choosing excellent handling and driving safety. Overall this is a good choice for high speeds on good road surfaces.
Verdict
General Tire G-Max RS is a summer tire with directional tread and excellent sports performance. Of course, these tires are unlikely to be used in professional sports. For these purposes, there is another rubber, the price of which is several times higher, and the service life is several times lower. Otherwise, it is really high-quality rubber that will make your everyday trips more comfortable and safe.
Again, gentlemen, let's not forget about the price, or rather about the ratio of price and quality. In this regard, these tires are almost beyond the competition. According to most western buyers, these tires perform as well as rubber, which costs twice as much. And finally, one cannot fail to say about the design. The tread pattern, and in general, how neatly these tires are made, will certainly decorate the car on which these tires will be installed.
Verdict - we recommend purchasing!
