NeoTires

Tires BFGoodrich T/A DRAG RADIAL are manufactured according to the technology of racing off-road tires, so it is not at all surprising that the "chip" of this model is its high durability. Thanks to the proprietary CoreGuard technology, the all-terrain model of the second generation perfectly resists various kinds of damage (including impacts and cuts) that can cause tire delamination.

This model uses COREGUARD technology, carried over from the BFGoodrich T/A DRAG RADIAL rally-raid racing tires, and makes the tire more durable. The essence of this technology lies in the increased thickness of the sidewalls and the use of a special compound in its manufacture, which is characterized by increased resistance to any mechanical stress and reduces practically to zero the possibility of pinching, which can cause tire rupture.

To prove this, the manufacturer even experimented, throwing a T/A DRAG RADIAL from a height of 2 miles onto the rocky terrain of the North American state of Utah.

After landing, the tire was installed on a waiting "three-wheeled" SUV, which after a forced pit stop calmly continued its confident movement over rough terrain. Not surprisingly, BFG is now boldly claiming to be the toughest of all off-road tires.

But the point, as you know, is not only about technology. For example, sidewall damage is prevented by using an additional layer of rubber compound, as well as by powerful shoulder blocks designed to repel objects that can damage the integrity of the tire.

Features of the structure of T/A DRAG RADIAL

The high durability of the BFGoodrich T/A DRAG RADIAL is due, among other things, to the optimized tread design. It provides not only good endurance of the tire on a gravel road, but also even distribution of pressure over the contact patch, and, consequently, even wear of the tread, and long-term operation of the tire.

Advanced repulsive design

The good cross-country ability of this aggressive all-season model is ensured by the features of the tread structure. So, large interconnected blocks of the central part help the tire to quickly self-clean from water and dirt in the contact patch, thereby guaranteeing the stability of the tire's performance properties and the safety of directional stability. Self-locking sipes applied to the surface of these blocks increase traction in the snow. Lateral "serrated" lugs improve maneuverability in rocky terrain, deep snow, and mud.

Tire and Rubber Industry Association of Canada TRAC confirms that the BFG T/A DRAG RADIAL meets all requirements for tires designed for severe winter. According to its data, the previous model * of the line loses against its background. The second-generation model has a 19% increase in grip on snow, but in mud, this indicator "grew" by 10%.

Quality radial summer tires. The type of car for which the tires are intended: passenger car. Manufactured at BF Goodrich factories using electronic quality control of the finished product The manufacturer has already dubbed its 2015 premiere, the BFGoodrich g-Force Comp-2, model, "the best all-season UHP tires in the entire history of the brand." It is not surprising, because the tire, in addition to the first-class grip on dry and wet asphalt, provides reliable contact with snowy roads in summer.

ETEC system

If you know anything about the brand's products, then you are probably familiar with the BFGoodrich g-Force Sport Comp 2, a high-performance summer tire designed for sports cars. Since both tires (BF Goodrich g-Force Comp-2, and BF Goodrich g-Force T/A DRAG RADIAL) have almost the same name, it goes without saying that their construction is the same. But while the T/A DRAG RADIAL tires are only effective in warm weather, the all-season T/A DRAG RADIAL, promises high performance in light snow.

“Although the tread pattern is the same as the previous model, we have simplified the sidewall design to give it a more 'racing' look,” said Andy Koury, UHP tire division manager at BFGoodrich. "Well, and, of course, the tires are of higher performance." The grip on wet surfaces has been increased by 30% and dry grip by 80%, the manufacturer said in a statement. “Advances in rubber compounding technology have allowed us to achieve significant improvements in grip on both dry and wet surfaces,” says Kuri. "We've added a compound designed specifically for very powerful cars and modified the internal cushioning of the tires ... We have strengthened, optimized, and refined the damping system to improve steering response, rigidity, and controllability."

Improved contact patch shape

The BFGoodrich g-Force T/A DRAG RADIAL also features hollow blocks in the shoulder sections for optimal visibility at the grip limit;

  1. a one-piece center rib for improved directional stability at high speed;
  2. a hook-shaped tread pattern with a large number of engaged edges for high grip at any angle of rotation;
  3. and a sideways groove in the shoulder for maximum road contact.

The relationship to racing tires is evidenced by the internal structure, which improves steering response and control; as well as side section inserts that increase cornering handling by 40 percent stiffening the sidewalls. The new UTQG-rated 340 AAA tires also feature reduced shoulder blocks for maximum visibility at the grip limit; a solid rib in the central part to improve road holding on the highway; hook-shaped tread pattern with a large number of edges for increased traction at any angle of rotation; as well as offset grooves in the shoulder areas to maximize contact with the road.

Another feature of the BFGoodrich g-Force T/A DRAG RADIAL is its 'racing' design, which improves handling and includes sidewall inserts for a more precise cornering response. The stiffness of the side sections has also been increased by 40%, the manufacturer adds.
