Toyo Celsius Cargo is an asymmetric all-season tire for commercial vans and light trucks that claims to offer a better grip on snow and ice than conventional all-season models and longer tread life than winter tires.
The Toyo Celsius Cargo tires, which entered the market in mid-2020, complemented the Japanese manufacturer's year-round range, which until then had been Celsius for passenger cars and Celsius CUV for SUVs and crossovers.
The 3PMSF icon on the sidewalls of the Celsius Cargo (snowflake against a mountain with three peaks) confirms that the tires can be safely used in harsh snow conditions. As the Shina Guide technician notes, this gives merchants fewer restrictions and more options for the vehicle, and less downtime when changing seasonal tires.
The inner part of Toyo Celsius Cargo's unique asymmetric tread pattern is focused on improving the grip of the tire on winter roads, for which tread blocks with a high density of sipes and "snow claws" are responsible, as well as a zigzag-shaped drainage groove that effectively cleans the tread from snow and ice while maximizing grip in cold weather.
The inner part of the tread is designed to improve stability and stabilize handling on dry and wet asphalt due to the circumferential rib and lower void ratio.
Reinforced sidewalls provide additional protection against damage from curbs, while a robust inner frame ensures exceptional handling and stability during frequent stops and starts.
Toyo Tire U.S.A. unveiled the new Toyo Celsius Cargo "all-weather" tire for commercial vans and light trucks.
According to Toyo, the new Celsius Cargo is designed to provide year-round reliability and safety.
Celsius Cargo carries the winter marking 3PMSF. The tread pattern elements are combined in such a way as to maintain stable performance in all weather and road conditions. The annular rib and low void ratio of the outer tread pattern improve the tire's performance on wet and dry roads. Zig-zag tread blocks with frequent siping, special snow lugs, and drainage grooves on the inside of the tread evacuate snow and ice and provide stable grip in cold weather. The sidewall of the tire is reliably protected from damage from curbs, and the body provides handling and stability in urban traffic conditions.
The new Celsius Cargo commercial tire is available in three sizes, with ten more sizes from R16 to R18 coming to the region in September.
