The Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD08 aims to be one of the strongest offerings in the ADVAN street tire range, as close as possible to its racing cousins. In creating the Yokohama ADVAN Neova AD08, the company benefited from the experience of working with the World Touring Car Championship. This gives the tire excellent road holding, excellent cornering at high speeds on dry surfaces, and is balanced in all key performance characteristics - control, stability, wet grip, durability, and wear uniformity.
The tires replace the Advan Neova AD07 and offer even better traction and braking performance. Thanks to the use of a special composition of Micro Silica Compound with the use of high-density carbon black Hyper Density Carbon, the tires perfectly keep dry and wet road surfaces.
Special double ribs "Rapid Reflex" increase stability and accelerate the response of the tire to the turns of the steering wheel, due to the wide shoulder area "Unibloc" increased the contact area of the rubber with the road surface and, accordingly, improved cornering characteristics.
A substance has been added to "MS Compound 2" which is already used in WTCC tires. As a result, new physical properties were obtained - softness at the micro-level and hardness at the macro level. At the micro-level, the surface of the compound contacts the smallest elements of the road surface, increasing the contact patch and thereby improving grip. At the macro level, the compound resists deformation from heat and wear, thus providing excellent grip throughout the tire's life.
Main characteristics
- Formulated with silica and carbon particles for superior wet and dry grip and reduced tire wear. Additional metal inserts in the sidewalls for sharpened handling. Two central ribs provide fast steering force transmission and control stability, reduce uneven tread wear. Solid blocks in the shoulder area with a system of drainage channels
- Groove-in-groove technology, developed by the company's leading engineers as the fastest serial bus for urban use. Using state-of-the-art designs and technologies used in the world's racing series, the engineers have created a tire without compromise - the ADVAN Neova AD08R - built on the race track. Enhanced traction performance and increased safety margin
- Summer sports rubber Yokohama Advan Neova AD08 of a special composition with inclusions of particles Micro Silica (Micro Silica) has a powerful grip. The V-shaped tread pattern of the Yokohama Advan Neova AD08 wheel forms an anti-water wedge, guaranteeing minimal rolling resistance. Central one-piece double rib with mid-groove provides revolutionary directional stability.
- The outwardly bent groove system quickly removes water from the contact patch of the Yokohama Advan Neova AD08 tire. Large rounded shoulder blocks increase the lateral grip of the Yokohama Advan Neova AD08 tire when maneuvering, increase traction, and shorten the braking distance. The double seamless steel cord and nylon spiral winding cord increases the load threshold and high-speed ride comfort resists deformation and mechanical damage.
Technologies
- New R compound improves traction
Increasing the amount of carbon in the composition: Improving dry grip
Microquartz: Provides a firm grip on wet surfaces
Macromolecular polymer blend: Simultaneous increase in stiffness and wear resistance
- Molecular structure of CG
The addition of carbon to the conventional MS2 compound improves dry grip. A bit of quartz provides a firm grip on wet surfaces. Finally, blending polymers at the macromolecular level increases the strength and wear resistance of the tires.
- Consecutive circular grooves
Circular grooves in series dissipate (do not level) the impact from the road surface, which significantly increases the tire's wear resistance. These tires provide excellent water drainage on wet surfaces.
- The shoulder area of the tire.
The use of single shoulder zones (lugs) in a circle increases rigidity for maximum traction and shortened lap times.
Advantages:
- Excellent road holding
- Mountain serpentine is her element, it is possible to break on dry into a skid only at exorbitant speeds
- Very strong sidewalls.
- Excellent wear resistance.
- Designed to be the world's fastest tire with roadside approval
- Outstanding grip and track stability
- Sporty dry and wet performance combined with high wear resistance
Disadvantages:
- Might be noisy for someone.
- Practically does not hold on wet asphalt
- Difficult to handle in a dry drift, a feeling of heaviness and uninformative steering
Comment:
Great rubber for dry racing! And on the wet, you can get a lot of fun, but better on the track or in another safe place! Very good for emergency braking! The strength of the sidewalls is simply amazing!
