Hankook launches new ultra-wide truck tires.
Hankook Tire North America has unveiled the new Hankook e3 Wide DL21 ultra-wide tire for drive axle trucks. The novelty will replace the previous generation DL07 model, which is superior in durability and mileage.
The new model has become more durable and more economical in comparison with its predecessor.
The Hankook e3 Wide DL21 is designed for long-haul use. The use of advanced technologies and a new tread design have improved the mileage of the new tire compared to its predecessor by 2 percent, as well as reduced rolling resistance by 10 percent.
3D sipe technology has increased the overall level of grip, durability, and performance of the tire. Seven main zigzag grooves effectively manage water drainage, preventing stones from getting stuck and block cracking. Reinforced shoulder ribs and a closed shoulder design provide even wear to help fuel economy and mileage.
The Hankook e3 WiDE DL21 is available in 445/50 R22.5 with a tread depth of 19 mm. The e3 wide ultra-wide tire line also includes the trailed Hankook e3 WiDE TL21, which are produced in the same dimension but have a shallower groove depth of 13 mm.
The tread pattern of the new Hankooks includes zig-zag grooves and 3D sipes for increased traction and has been optimized to reduce the risk of cracks. Also, the reinforced carcass structure construction improves tire retread. The enhancements to the Hankook e3 Wide DL21 are based on Hankook's proprietary Tire Smartec TBR technology, which is an integrated manufacturing process combining five main factors of tire performance: Safety, Mileage, Anti chip-cut, Retreadability, and Traction (safety, mileage, resistance to damage, recovery, and adhesion).
