The Dunlop Direzza DZ102 summer passenger tire is the result of the search for a compromise between energy efficiency and sportiness, both in handling and appearance, which has always distinguished the products of the famous British brand. But since the development was carried out by the specialists of the Goodyear company, using the most modern technologies of the North American tire giant, the balance of performance properties were nevertheless found.

The Dunlop is one of the most affordable tires in its class, which is nice, especially considering it's made in Japan, not China or Indonesia.

Overall, the Direzza performs excellently as a racing tire. They are a good choice for anyone looking to get a little more grip on their vehicle. Just do not forget that they are not intended for cold weather, and their resource is also not infinite.

Acoustic comfort

Low noise level is ensured by the use of a 5-step tread (blocks of variable size) and an optimal location of the tread grooves.

Wear resistance

Special cuts on the tread blocks and increased belt rigidity provide better resistance to loads. The uniform distribution of pressure in the contact patch is ensured by the arrangement of the blocks in the shoulder region slightly above the blocks of the central part. The result is increased tire life.

Benefits

  • Extended service life
  • Grip and durability
  • Improved stability and handling
  • Increased resistance to aquaplaning and stability at high speeds
  • Improved wet and dry grip
  • Increased cornering stability

Disadvantages:

  • a little noisy
  • harsh

Aggressive tread pattern

Outwardly, this model is distinguished by a very aggressive tread pattern, which, is distinguished by fairly high efficiency, both in terms of grip properties and fuel efficiency. This was achieved due to a significant increase in the size of all five longitudinal tread ribs. It is this, together with the numerous drainage grooves located at an acute angle relative to the direction of travel, that gives the tread a striking appearance. At the same time, these elements significantly increase resistance to aquaplaning by directing the water into one of the nearby longitudinal drainage grooves. Their location at an acute angle and against the movement speeds up this process many times over.

The second "plus" of this design of the tread pattern is the large contact patch area. It was additionally increased due to the small curvature of the tread profile, and the invariability of its dimensions is achieved largely due to the rigidity of all its elements.

Increased silica content

A significant part of the many advantages of this model is provided due to the physicochemical properties of the rubber compound of its tread. The bulk of the compound is silica, which improves wet grip and also reduces fuel consumption, and gives the ride extra softness. It was possible to increase the proportion of this component due to polymers, which provide high strength of molecular bonds between all the chemicals used in the manufacture of the rubber compound. This increases its tensile strength, which, in turn, provides the tread with reliable integrity protection under continuous centrifugal acceleration forces.

Excellent stability at high speed

One of the characteristic features of the Dunlop Direzza DZ102 tire is its excellent grip stability when driving at high speeds. It is achieved not only through the use of wide longitudinally located rigid ribs in the tread design. The tire carcass contributes much more to stability. It differs not only in its multilayer construction but also in the use of cords made according to the so-called "seamless" winding technology. In addition to the absence of seams and joints, it significantly increases the density of the cord threads, and with this the ability of the tire to maintain its original shape when exposed to dynamic deformation.

Main features of the Dunlop Direzza DZ102 tire

- aggressive tread pattern provides the tire with excellent performance and excellent fuel efficiency;

- a rubber compound with a high silica content provides excellent grip on wet roads and ensures a very long service life;

- wide blocks of shoulder zones improve stability in turns, reduce the length of the braking distance;

- Durable multi-layer carcass, made with seamless winding technologies, increases tread stability and heating at high speed.

In the middle price segment, this is the best combination of characteristics, numerous positive reviews confirm this. The grip at the start and the grip in turns are excellent, the braking is excellent, the noise level is moderate, and the wear resistance is high.

In the city, the full potential of this rubber cannot be revealed. You enter the turns on it easily and naturally.

Together with a live and serviced chassis, you can work wonders by car. You still have to try to get to the limit of these tires.

As a result, these tires are stable and safe. They will not fail in a difficult situation.
