Yokohama has unveiled the Yokohama AVID ENVigor , which has been hailed as “the best tire in the Grand Performance category”.
According to the manufacturer, the exclusive filler of the side part under normal conditions provides a comfortable ride, and at zero pressure gives increased hardness. Moreover, the specially placed thickened bead ring facilitates the process of mounting the tire on the rim and reduces the risk of spontaneous tire disassembly in the event of a puncture.
Danlane added that the new version has all the strengths of the conventional AVID ENVigor tires, which are "the most advanced tires in their class ever made." “These are the first and only High-Performance tires to successfully combine comfort, increased grip, and superior handling with the incredible economy, environmental friendliness, and durability,” concluded Mr. Danlane.
Features of Yokohama AVID ENVigor
The Yokohama AVID ENVigor features reinforced side sections made from a heat-reducing compound designed to withstand the weight of the vehicle after a loss of pressure. The exclusive bead filler ensures a comfortable ride in normal conditions and the necessary stiffness of the bead after air loss. In addition, the thickened, hexagonal bead wire simplifies the mounting of the tire to the rim and reduces the risk of bead displacement following a loss of pressure.
The compound is formulated with silica to reduce rolling resistance and fuel consumption, while also improving wet handling and durability. Optimization of the tread block arrangement has also reduced the noise level. The groove-in-groove drainage system increases durability and permeability. Changing the placement of drainage channels has led to an improvement in tire wear resistance, which is due to their low rolling resistance.
Other features of the Yokohama AVID ENVigor include "monobloc" shoulder sections located at an angle to the wall of the grooves and the use of the Adaptive 3D system, which significantly increases tire grip on wet roads. Specially shaped grooves help avoid aquaplaning, while the tapered center rib and monoblock shoulder areas enhance the strength of the structure.
Since the sidewall of the Yokohama is polyurethane, the behavior when stepping into a corner is slightly different compared to the ATR Sport, which has a stiff steel belt.
The second point is that the rubber is softer and the grip on wet asphalt is better.
- The all-season Avid ENVigor model has ideally balanced technical characteristics, economic efficiency, and comfort that can be installed both on a passenger car and on an SUV, minibus, or light truck.
- Narrow center rib and integrated shoulder area for improved handling on both wet and dry asphalt.
- Optimized contact patch reduces rolling resistance, which significantly increases service life
- Angled grooves with 3D sipes help resist aquaplaning and increase grip on wet surfaces in both summer and winter.
- Fuel efficiency is now even more efficient with a special rubber compound that reduces rolling resistance ultra-low without sacrificing tread durability, comfort and traction.
- Six-step tread block design eliminates resonance noise.
