Cooper ZEON LTZ - Introduced in 2018, off-road tires for SUVs and light trucks, focused on all-season use in countries with very mild winter climates. They can be used both within the city (60%) and on rough terrain (40%).

The performance of the Cooper ZEON LTZ tires is unaffected by weather conditions. They behave equally confidently both in hot and cold weather, while in close contact with unstable and hard surfaces, which was achieved through the introduction of the manufacturer's proprietary technology called Cooper Adaptive-Traction (adaptive traction).

For the tread of the model, an innovative rubber compound based on silicic acid (silica) is used. It enhances the grip of the ZEON LTZ on wet roads, improves the tire's puncture and cut resistance, and reduces rolling resistance.

The aggressive five-rib design of the Cooper Sure-Grip delivers off-paved traction and good traction on dry and wet asphalt. Zig-zag grooves on the tread blocks improve vehicle stability, while deep drainage grooves reduce the effect of aquaplaning on the Cooper ZEON LTZ. The unique stepped shape of the annular water evacuation grooves also helps prevent stones from getting stuck in the tread.

The all-season tire Cooper ZEON LTZ is designed for SUVs and pickups. It is adapted for operation in the conditions of the so-called “European” winters. Structurally, it is a model of the All Terrain category, equally well suited for use both on the highway and in rough terrain.

The running part of the tread is made of a rubber compound based on silicon-containing components. It is characterized by increased elasticity at low temperatures. At the same time, due to the use of modern polymers, the “proprietary” feature of the brand's tires to be reliable is fully preserved - this tire is highly resistant to punctures and cuts. The tread design is replete with large blocks grouped along five longitudinal ribs. Zig-zag sipes improve performance on slippery surfaces.

Main features of Cooper ZEON LTZ

- tread pattern with five rows of blocks is effective on highways and rough terrain;

- zigzag sipes provide traction on slippery winter surfaces;

- rubber compound based on silica and polymers improves performance at low temperatures and off-road.

- Adaptive traction technology helps to maintain performance in all weather conditions and the most aggressive operating conditions.

- Rubber compound with a silicon base that provides excellent traction and handling, and guarantees protection against wear, puncture, and tearing.

- Impressive five-rib design improves off-road flotation and urban handling.

- Serrated lugs improve traction in mud, loose snow, and hard ground.

To tame the harsh weather conditions, the Cooper ZEON LTZ uses sawtooth features. They are designed to keep the snow in the tread (snow-to-snow contact increases traction) and to provide short braking distances on snowy roads.

2018 AT3 Extended Range Models

In addition to the ZEON LTZ, the tire lineup, updated in 2018, also includes the Cooper Discoverer AT3 LT and Cooper Discoverer AT3 XLT tires.

The Cooper ZEON LTZ is designed for SUVs and light-duty pickups. Adaptive-Traction Technology allows the tire to provide traction on a variety of surfaces, flat and rocky, as well as in cold and hot weather. The tread is made of a new silica-based rubber compound for increased wet grip, and the 5-rib design has been developed to improve off-road traction. The design includes zig-zag sipes to improve stability and prevent stones from getting stuck, as well as deep grooves in the center section of the tread to reduce the risk of aquaplaning. The design has also been redesigned to allow the grooves to grip snow for improved acceleration and braking performance, and the mountain and snowfields markings (3PMSF) indicate that the tires are suitable for use in harsh winter conditions.

Silica has been added to the rubber compound to enhance wet grip, and the tread grooves are capable of trapping snow for optimal handling in winter conditions.

The American Cooper has won an award for the entire family of new off-road tires, which includes three models. The Cooper ZEON LTZ (named one of the best tire innovations at the 2018 SEMA Show) is a versatile all-terrain tire that, thanks to its "adaptive grip" technology, is suitable for both asphalt and off-road applications. The Cooper Discoverer ZEON LTZ is optimized for use with increased loads and is also designed for pickups used in professional activities. In turn, the Cooper Discoverer AT3XLT differs from the Cooper ZEON LTZ in improved flotation and increased puncture resistance.
