Yokohama BluEarth Winter V905 is a frictional winter tire launched ahead of the 2017/2018 winter season, which was created by the Japanese brand's engineers specifically for the European market. They are designed for daily use in both light vehicles and SUVs.

The Yokohama BluEarth * Winter V905 is the first winter development that fully complies with the strictest environmental regulations of the European Union. It is based on innovative proprietary technologies, thanks to which the existing “green” models of the environmentally friendly BluEarth line have gained serious popularity: for example, the BluEarth-A AE-50 and BluEarth AE-01, which are part of the European range of the brand.

The tread pattern of this winter model is borrowed from the Yokohama W.drive V905 tires, which in 2015 were highly praised by independent experts from the general German auto club ADAC.

Using the proven design and core technologies of the Blu Earth family of tires, the BluEarth * Winter V905 tires have good performance and superior stability on snow, ice, wet, and dry road conditions, as well as high energy efficiency.

Targeted at European and American markets. As a result, these tires have full compliance with international quality and safety standards, as well as a number of features.

  • there are curved grooves in the direction from the center of the rubber, they guarantee instantaneous removal of dirt and snow masses from the contact patch.
  • the placement of two types of sipes makes it possible to optimize the grip of the tire and improve braking on slippery roads.
  • The lightweight profile reduces the rolling resistance of the vehicle and reduces fuel consumption.
  • the unique composition of the rubber compound guarantees the adaptation of the tire to various weather conditions and temperature indicators.

Benefits

  • Evolutionary snow grip
  • Excellent deflection ability on snow and wet roads
  • Fuel efficiency
  • Confident driving at high speeds

Confidence in all winter conditions and environmental friendliness

Application: for premium cars, crossovers, small family cars

The Yokohama Bluearth Winter V905 tire is a real breakthrough for the manufacturer. The combination of many seemingly incompatible characteristics results in an excellent product for a large number of consumers.

Main characteristics

  • Wide curved grooves and side groove with variable angle
  • New composition with microsilica
  • New under-protective layer that reduces heat generation

Technologies

  1. Directional drawing
  2. Variable angle of side grooves
  3. Wide curved grooves
  4. Zigzag longitudinal grooves
  5. Triple three-dimensional/two-dimensional lamellas
  6. Ring micro-slats

The composition of the tread layer

The new heat-lowering tread layer reduces energy loss by retaining rigidity.

The composition of rubber raw materials is adapted to strict European standards, it makes the rubber resistant to abrasion and damage. The presence of most of the qualities presented is due to the presence of orange oil in the rubber compound, in addition to standard silica. This mixture provides sufficient softness and elasticity of the tire, even in severe frost, keeping the contact patch consistently large. Lamellas of the Yokohama Blue Art Winter B 905 tire is divided into two subtypes: interlocking and standard. So the elements of the first type are located in the shoulder area, providing first-class vehicle handling and instant steering response. The manufacturer placed standard sipes in the central part of the tire; they are responsible for increased grip on an icy track.
