Hankook W320 Winter I* Cept Evo 2 is a winter friction tire with an asymmetric ad pattern, awarded with the Red Dot Design Award, is specially developed for prestige cars, luxury sedans, and sports cars. The Winter I* Cept evo2 SUV has a double-ply carcass as an adaptation to the special needs of the popular SUV category.
In addition, Hankook is supplying the Hankook I* Cept evo2 super performance 245 / 50R18 H * RSC winter tires for OE on the new BMW 7 series.
Hankook SEALGUARDĀ® technology.
Unique SEALGUARDĀ® sealant seals puncture up to 5 mm in diameter in the tire tread area. Thus, driving can be continued without problems even in the event of a punctured tire. Cars equipped with self-adhesive tires eliminate the need for spare wheels, freeing up additional space in the vehicle, reducing weight, and eliminating the inconvenience of changing tires on the side of the road. In addition to improved safety features, products with Hankook SEALGUARDĀ® technology offer the same comfort levels and tread patterns for passenger cars.
The model also has an SUV version for crossovers and SUVs.
Hankook continues to expand its current line of high-performance winter models. The Hankook Winter I* Cept evo2 tires have been developed to provide a better level of safety when driving in the winter, as weather conditions in Europe become more and more variable during this season than the other models.
Snow, ice, frost, heavy rain, and wet leaves are often dangerous driving conditions on winter roads. The Hankook Winter I* Cept evo2 and Hankook I* Cept evo2 SUV tires challenge the weather with improved tread joints and improved design. Highly dispersed silica nano-compound, resistant to curing at low temperatures, provides improved grip on icy or wet road surfaces by increasing the contact surface area.
The increased contact patch area of the tire with the road surface, achieved by optimizing its profile, increases the grip of the tire when driving in snow and rain, and also prevents aquaplaning.
The asymmetric outer tread pattern of the Hankook Winter I* Cept evo2 high-performance tires ensures increased handling on snow and improved traction, while the inner tread provides increased braking performance on snow, slush, and wet conditions. By increasing the number of tread block edges, the tire "bites" into the snow, which also contributes to improved grip.
Special 3D sipes across the entire tread area increase road holding and overall handling by minimizing block movement and abrasion and by maximizing block edges. Cross-profiling on the inside of the tread at an optimized angle improves performance when riding on snow.
Thanks to two wide longitudinal grooves, the free space is increased by 30%, which guarantees efficient drainage of water and sludge. The grooves on the Hankook Winter I* Cept evo2 further improve traction on snow and prevent aquaplaning for safer driving on snowy and wet roads.
Sidewall and bead reinforcement, combined with a wider tire shoulder and an optimized cube tread design, provide enhanced steering response, improved cornering grip, and better dry handling.
Both models and tires with Hankook SEALGUARDĀ® Technology are predominantly produced in Hankook's modern European factories in Hungary in a wide range of sizes. Winter, I* Cept evo2 tires are available with a rim diameter of 16 - 20 inches, a tread width of 195 - 295 mm, and a tire-to-width ratio of 30 - 60 with speed ratios H, V, and W. In this case, tires with increased carrying capacity (Extra -Load - XL).
Hankook SEALGUARDĀ® technology is used in the winter 2016 tires in sizes 215/60 R 16 H and 215/55 R 17 V. The size range of the Hankook Winter I* Cept evo2 SUV is available in tires with a rim diameter of 16 - 22 inches with a tread width of 215 - 295 mm and the ratio of the height of the tire to its width 30 - 70 with speed ratios from T to W.
Technical characteristics of the winter tire Hankook Winter I* Cept evo2:
- Highly dispersed silica nano-compound of the protector
- Improved grip on wet surfaces, increased performance on snow and ice.
- High-performance, asymmetrical tread protector with dual function
- Outside the tread area ensures increased handling when driving on snow.
- Inner tread area provides better braking on snow and wet road surfaces.
- Three-dimensional lamellas
- Increased road stability and better performance in winter conditions by minimizing block movement.
- Lateral X-grooves for improved traction
- Increased performance when driving on snow by optimizing the angle at which these lateral grooves are located.
- Wide grooves, wide shoulder, and optimized block design
- Improved grip on snow and avoidance of aquaplaning due to optimized road contact area.
- Grooves are 30% wider than existing products for efficient drainage of water and sludge.
- Improved handling, grip, and directional control.
- SEALGUARDĀ® tire sealing system
- The inner part of the tire with SEALGUARDĀ® technology is coated from shoulder to shoulder with a viscous material.
- In the event of a puncture, holes up to 5 mm in diameter are immediately tightened using the Hankook SEALGUARDĀ® technology.
Excellent high-speed Velcro friction tire for different winter conditions. Hankook engineers have made significant progress over the past few years, bringing the performance of this model to the level of comparable tires from Michelin, Pirelli, and Continental.
Well suited for operation in the city with periodic trips to snow-covered roads and roads. Handling on dry and wet asphalt is a benchmark, as is acoustic comfort. It copes well with urban snow porridge, perfectly handled on loose snow. The behavior on the ice is also understandable and predictable - the car stably keeps the trajectory at an adequate speed of maneuvering.
Experienced in operating in a strong minus - unlike Michelin PA4 and Pirelli Sottozero Serie II does not "dazzle" at temperatures below 68F.
Excellent sidewall - for two seasons of driving on all types of roads, not a single hernia.
Good durability - after a fairly intense winter season with a range of 9320mi, the tread remains about 85%.
Of the minuses, there can only be noted the lack of protection for the edge of the disc, which is present in similar European models - it is easy to scratch the wheel on the curb when parking.
In general low fuel consumption, balanced dry performance, high traction, and good snow stability. On wet surfaces, long braking distances, slow steering responses, prone to understeer.
