All Season

All-Season is Firestone's all-season passenger tire, which was specially developed for drivers of coupes, sedans, family minivans, and crossovers. The manufacturer kept in mind drivers who were seeking a combination of year-round performance, driving comfort, and long-lasting tires.

All-Season has used the silica-reinforced rubber tread in a symmetrical design to facilitate rotation and to promote even wear. Four circumferential grooves help guide water through the tire footprint to improve wet grip, while deep grooves provide the undercut which is needed for traction on light snow. The internal structure of the tire consists of one or two layers (depending on size) of polyester carcass under two wide steel straps with spiral wound nylon reinforcements to provide durability, ride quality, and stability.

Now, let’s go over some of the main advantages of this tire model:

  • It provides excellent handling and grip on dry surfaces
  • It has very good braking in dry weather
  • It offers plush ride quality over uneven surfaces
  • The tire remains fairly quiet at higher speeds
  • It is available in many popular sizes in North America
  • It saves fuel thanks to the low-rolling-resistance design
  • Has an excellent tread life and long treadwear warranty for the price
  • Very affordable

The American company Firestone, which is now under Bridgestone, produces safe and reliable tires at lower price points than the premium competition. The tire competes directly with the likes of Goodyear Assurance AllSeason, and Dunlop Enasave 01 A/S, but also the Cooper Evolution Tour and General Altimax RT43. In Firestone`s family of tires, the AllSeason inherits the FR710, which was very popular among drivers. The new model brings several improvements to the board, namely in traction levels.

Moreover, this particular Firestone tire model belongs to the lowest level passenger car all-season category. This means that the tire is designed for drivers who need a reliable tire while performing regular daily driving in various weather conditions. Thanks to the availability of many sizes, the tire can fit a variety of popular vehicles on the road today. These include subcompact cars, such as Ford Fiesta, Honda Fit, and Toyota Yaris.

We would also like to ass that you can fit the Firestone All Season on compact cars, such as Honda Civic, and Kia Forte, and Toyota Corolla. You can also fit the tire on midsize sedans, such as Honda Accord, Hyundai Sonata, and Toyota Camry, minivans, such as Honda Odyssey, Kia Sedona, Toyota Sienna, and Chrysler Pacifica. The Firestone All Season can fit a variety of vehicles, including even some crossovers and executive sedans!

Now, before we jump to conclusions, though, let`s take a closer look into what features Firestone employed in the tire in order to make it stand out from the crowd.

Features of the Firestone All Season

According to Firestone, the AllSeason is a tire that delivers quality, value, and dependability. The first thing that we would like to mention is the deep sipes across the tread of the tire. These increase traction in rainy conditions and also improve the hydroplaning resistance. Also, the deep sipes improve traction on snowcovered roads, thanks to the higher number of biting edges compared to other tires.

Meanwhile, Firestone put a lot of effort into designing the tread pattern in order to provide performance in dry, wet, and snowy conditions. In other words, this tire is going to provide you with good traction throughout the year. Furthermore, Firestone focused on improving the overall comfort of this tire model, without damaging the handling and responsiveness.

The American tiremaker also utilized an advanced silica enhanced tread compound. The rubber is molded into a very symmetric tread pattern designed for even wear throughout the life of the tire. The Firestone AllSeason tire features four circumferential grooves for increased water evacuation, just like most all-season passenger tires.

The internal construction which is used in the Firestone All Season is pretty standard for the category. Depending on the size of the tire, the manufacturer utilized a one-ply or two-ply polyester body casing, beneath two wide steel belts. These are further strengthened by spirally wrapped nylon reinforcement for added highspeed capability, smoother ride quality, and increased durability.

Maintenance indicators

Firestone uses the industry-standard tread wear indicator or TWI. TWI is a narrow rubber strip embedded in the circumferential groove of the tire, deeply embedded in the tread. As the tread wears, the stripes become more pronounced. When the Firestone All Season tread reaches 2/32 inches, the TWI will be completely flush with the tread. This is when you should replace the tires with new tires.

The 2/32 inch depth is the minimum legal requirement. This is because if there is not enough tread depth, your tire will not be able to drain water from the tread. As a result, you will lose traction, grip, and braking ability in a wet environment. For all these reasons, I recommend that you change your tires earlier. Don't wait for the gauge to align with the tread, because your tire's traction on a smooth surface has been reduced.

Fortunately, Firestone All-Season is a very durable tire, especially in terms of service life. According to Consumer Reports, this tire has an estimated service life of 60,000 miles, which is excellent for this category and price.

Additionally, Firestone provides an excellent treadwear guarantee for its cheapest tires. For sizes suitable for ordinary vehicles, the company provides a 65,000-mile tire wear warranty, and for cross-border sizes (CUV), they provide a 55,000-mile warranty.

Overall, the Firestone All Season didn't find too many bugs in handling everyday driving situations. It is safe and will not surprise you. Also, the tires fit this category well and at the same time have a good feel for road drivers.

Plus, responsiveness is matched by good throttle traction. AllSeason also impressed people in the corners, where it produced good grip. The braking distance is not very long, in fact, it is very suitable for this type of tire.

Handling slippery roads

Well, pretty good. In terms of braking, Firestone All Season performed really well. The distance is not competitive between similar products, but they can still be used for cheap tires. Also, you shouldn't have a problem with accelerated traction, it's enough.

Is it comfortable and refined?

Fortunately, All-Season redeems itself in the comfort department. The ride quality is very smooth: the tires have successfully eliminated smaller and smaller defects. Also, there is not much noise on the highway.

Should I buy Firestone All-Season tires?

Well, we think you should definitely consider buying it. If you are looking to save money and buy American products, the Firestone All Season should be for you. It drives well on dry roads, is safe enough on wet roads, and can last for a long time. It is also very comfortable and can be attractive to family shoppers.
