Barum Bravuris 5 HM is a high-performance asymmetric summer tire for passenger cars and SUVs, which, thanks to an optimized tread pattern and a special rubber compound, are characterized by high mileage, low rolling resistance, and reliable grip on wet and dry surfaces.
This range is characterized by high mileage and high traction. Improved performance is achieved through the use of an innovative rubber compound with the addition of special silica (i.e. silicon oxide) and a redesigned tread pattern.
The abbreviation НМ stands for High Mileage, literally from English "high mileage". The fifth generation of Bravuris 5 XM tires is distinguished by colossal wear resistance for its class. The unique pattern of sipes and the presence of closed blocks on all sides of the tread provide increased pattern rigidity.
In the model range, the Barum Bravuris 5HM tires will replace the Bravuris 3HM tires that appeared on the market five years earlier. When comparing the tires of the two generations, it is clear that the developers worked hard before the launch of the new 5 HM.
The shoulder zones are equipped with transverse grooves of a semi-open type, which has a positive effect on the rigidity of the sidewall and, accordingly, the maneuverability of the model during curvilinear movement at high speed.
The width and depth of the longitudinal channels of the drainage system form their volume sufficient for the rapid collection and removal of moisture from the contact zone outside. Thanks to the three-layer groove technology described above, the process is more efficient than competing tires.
The composition of the rubber compound provides a shortening of the acceleration and braking distances, as well as a decrease in rolling resistance, which implies a high efficiency of tires. This is especially true for off-road passenger cars with high fuel consumption.
The design of the tire was optimized and even received two different versions: with three (12 sizes with a 15-inch rim) and four water evacuation grooves. It is a pity that the rectangles characteristic of 3HM on the outer part of the tread were not preserved.
Extremely high mileage
Summer tires Barum Bravuris 5 HM are made from a high-strength compound with a new polymer technology, which has made it possible to raise their abrasion resistance to a higher level.
High-strength compound Barum 5NM
An innovative midfoot tread design with oddly wriggling grooves for a secure, smooth ride. The balanced rib position optimizes the distribution of stiffness and ensures an even distribution of pressure in the contact area, which helps to avoid uneven wear and ultimately extends the life of the tire.
Low rolling resistance
Extremely flexible and resistant to high temperatures, the advanced tread compound reduces rolling resistance. The optimized profile of the Barum Bravuris 5HM minimizes tire deformation and prevents overheating. As a result, friction is reduced, rotation becomes smoother, and ultimately lower fuel consumption, resulting in real cost savings since a car equipped with Barum tires will have the lowest fuel consumption.
Reliable grip in dry conditions
Thanks to the use of the latest generation of silica tread in the tread compound, the Bravuris 5HM tires are characterized not only by the ability to optimize fuel consumption but also by stable handling. Closed shoulders and Barum's patented interlocking sipe design increase tread stiffness for improved grip and steering response.
Self-locking lamellas
The infinity symbol on the sidewall of the Barum Bravuris 5HM underlines its long-term focus.

- The moderate grip on grass
Features Barum Bravuris 5HM
The shoulder areas are equipped with transverse grooves for optimal rigidity. This improves maneuverability when driving at high speeds. The optimal width of the surface in contact with water (called the "treadmill"), combined with the high stiffness of the medial ribs, reduces the steering response time.
The shallow profile of a summer tire contributes to an even axle load distribution and maximum traction, which ultimately leads to increased safety. Low rolling resistance, combined with a balanced arrangement of ribs, provides an increase in the duration of the run of the Barum Bravuris 5HM rubber.
Differences from the previous model
Rubber Barum Bravuris 5HM surpasses its predecessor 3HM, which appeared 5 years ago, in most of the main parameters:
- Controllability and wet grip - by 1%.
- The resistance level when driving on dry roads is 3%.
- Rolling resistance - 5%.
- Guaranteed mileage - 15%.
- The noise level while driving is 10% lower.
With the help of the next improved factors:
- The model can be installed on both off-road vehicles and light vehicles;
- Contains silica, which has a positive effect on rolling resistance, minimizing fuel consumption;
- Has a symmetrical directional tread pattern, contributing to the rapid drying of the contact area;
- Provides stable control, both when driving in a straight line and when maneuvering.
The only indicator that a tire is inferior to its predecessor is aquaplaning resistance. This indicator is 2% lower for her, which is not critical.
Tires Barum Bravuris 5HM is a budget lineup that has some of the best technical characteristics for its price segment.
