The Barum NR 52 truck tire is one of the new products of the Czech manufacturer, which was specially created for bad asphalt as well as country roads. That is why its tread pattern is characterized by a block structure, and the frame is characterized by increased strength. In addition, this model is designed to be mounted on drive axles.
The presented model of tires has won the respect of many motorists. Barum NR 52 tires have shown excellent performance and comfort not only on modern highways but also on off-road sections of the track. Such a tire of a new generation is not afraid of the vagaries of the weather - it can be installed on a car at any time of the year and travel without problems to any corner of the country. If you look closely at the Barum NR 52 tread, you can see a unique pattern that will provide the car with an excellent grip. The tread performance is also characterized by good cross-country ability, stability, and carrying capacity. Independent auto experts who tested the rubber found a modified, modern formula in the composition. It increases its durability and provides a high rate of auto mileage.
Excellent cross-country performance
As mentioned earlier, the tread pattern of this model is characterized by a block structure. Each of the trapezoidal blocks forms five clutch edges located at different angles concerning the direction of travel. Thanks to this structure, the tire adheres perfectly to the surface with almost any coefficient of adhesion. In addition, one cannot fail to note the large distance between the blocks. This design feature allows the tread to be quickly and efficiently cleaned of soil particles accumulating in it, resulting in excellent grip on unstable ground.
High resistance to punctures and cuts
Since this tire was originally developed for operation, including off-road with asphalt-concrete pavement, the Czech tire workers tried to make it as resistant as possible to any aggressive impact. In particular, they used a deep tread pattern. In addition, special components were included in the rubber compound, which significantly increased the resistance of the tread to punctures and cuts, as well as abrasion.
Large contact patch sizes
Even though the tread pattern of the Barum NR 52 consists of many separate blocks, the Czech tire manufacturers have managed to maintain a large contact patch size. This was done by reducing the number of blocks, which made them more massive.
In addition, the dimensions of all tread blocks are practically equal, due to which it was possible to achieve an optimal distribution of external pressure over the contact patch, as well as to give it a shape as close as possible to rectangular. Combined with the massive block size, this allowed it to be stable, so that the tire demonstrates reliable grip, whatever the road conditions.
Low noise level
Quite often, off-road properties of tires "pull" the deterioration of several other equally important performance characteristics. Most often these are noise level and rolling resistance. To reduce noise and vibration caused by an excessive number of tread blocks, the specialists of the Czech company used several simple, but extremely simple solutions. First of all, they give the grip edges a significant angle concerning the direction of travel. In addition, the blocks themselves are located with different spacing relative to each other, due to the use of the classic S-shaped tread pattern, which, moreover, is characterized by reduced rolling resistance, which means higher fuel efficiency.
Main features of Barum NR 52
- the tire is specially designed for installation on the driving axles of trucks used both on asphalt concrete surfaces and off-road;
- the tread pattern with an S-shaped arrangement of elements is distinguished by a reduced level of resonance noise and vibrations, as well as improved fuel efficiency;
- block structure of the tread pattern, due to which the tire demonstrates confident behavior on unstable soils;
- a large distance between the blocks provides a more reliable grip in mud and sand;
- the massive size of the tread blocks in combination with their uniform dimensions provide a large contact patch, and also optimize the distribution of external pressure over it, which, in turn, has a beneficial effect on both the grip and the service life of the tire;
- high resistance to punctures and cuts due to the large tread depth, specially selected rubber compound, and reinforced carcass structure.
To achieve this result, Continental engineers have developed a thickened sidewall layer that protects the structure and provides additional impact resistance. The new Barum Industry also features extended lugs for a smoother ride and less wear.
Jill Rogers, Marketing Manager for Barum, said: “The tires will come with the motto 'Good Tire, Good Deal' because that is how it is. The Barum brand has already earned respect in the truck and passenger tire segments, and now our industrial customers will be able to take full advantage of it. ”
